Q:47

Did you regard this record book as an official

Yes. I showed it to the Registrar.

Were you in the habit of posting the entry

as to proceeds of sale before actual receipt?

I posted the net proceeds whether I saw the cheque or not. The cheque might have come in my absence

and have been detached from the account sales. I never

saw the cheques except by chance on the shroff's desk.

The shroff detaches the cheques and puts the account

sales on my desk. The account and cheque should come

together in an envelope addressed to the Registrar. I don't know whether the cheque would go to the Registrar or be retained by the shroff.

Did you call the Registrar's attention to the fact that accounts of sales were, from the beginning of 1926, coming in as much as 3 months after sale?

I see now that there were many cases of delay.

I did not notice that the delays amounted to as much as

three months. I never called Mr. Melbourne's attention

to the fact.

Did you receive any complaints as to delay in

paying out proceeds of salés?

I received several complaints. I don't remem-

ber any in 1925. I may have received such complaints in

the 1st Quarter of 1926.

What action did you take with regard to these

complaints?
